QUICK DIY | elegant golden pearl earpins

I’M BACK! Finally done with my exams and the last presentation of my Bachelor-Career! Yeeeaaaah!

I think I got a little bit earpin-addicted! I already showed you how to make some simple earpins in silver and today I want to give you some more inspiration for a more elegant look with gold and pearls.

ICH BIN ZURÜCK! Endlich bin ich mit den Prüfungen fertig und habe auch das letzte Referat meiner Bachelor-Karriere hinter mir! JUHUUUUUU!

Ich glaube ich bin ein bisschen Earpin-süchtig geworden! Ich hab dir ja schon mal gezeigt, wie man einfach silberne Earpins macht und möchte heute auch eine Variante in einem etwas eleganteren Look zeigen, gold mit Perlen.

golden aluminium wire (1 mm or 1,5 mm)
some pearls (in different sizes if you want)
wire cutters
round nose pliers

goldener Aluminiumdraht (1mm oder 1,5 mm)
ein paar Perlen (verschiedene Größe, wenn du magst)
Drahtschneider
Rundzange

LET’S GO

Cut off 2 pieces of aluminium wire about 6 cm long.

Schneide 2 Stücke Aluminiumdraht in ca. 6 cm Länge ab.

On one side form a little loop with your round nose pliers, so that the beads don’t fall off. If you have flat nose pliers it’s good to press the loop a bit to tighten it.

Biege an einer Seite eine kleine Schlaufe mit der Rundzange, sodass die Perlen dort bleiben, wo sie hingehören 😉 Wenn du eine Flachzange hast, kannst du damit die Schlaufe etwas zusammendrücken, dann hält sie noch besser.

Now you can add many different pearls, but the beads all toghether shouldn’t be longer than 2,5 cm. WATCH OUT! The pearls you thread on first are the ones that will be in the back of the earpin… I did it wrong here and had to turn the pattern on this picture around… Ooops.

Jetzt kannst du ein paar unterschiedliche Perlen auffädeln, aber die “Perlenstrecke” sollte insgesamt nicht mehr als 2,5 cm lang sein. ACHTUNG! Die Perlen, die du zuerst auffädelst, werden die sein, die am Earpin dann hinten sind… Ich hab’s am Anfang falsch gemacht und musste das Perlenmuster vom Bild nocheinmal rumdrehen… Ups.

Now bend the wire so that it is parallel to the beads. You can use your hands or round nose pliers. (See now what I mean, the bigger pearl will be in the back…)

Biege jetzt den Draht so, dass er parallel zu den Perlen ist. Dafür kannst du eine Rundzange nehmen, oder einfach deine Hände. (Siehste jetzt was ich meine, die größere Perle ist jetzt weiter hinten am Earpin…)

Cut off the rest of the wire, so that both sides have the same length. And don’t forget to file the end! You want to put into your ears, so that you don’t hurt yourself.

Schneide jetzt den Rest des Drahtes ab, sodass beide Seiten gleichlang sind. Vergiss nicht, das Ende ein bisschen abzufeilen, damit du dir nicht ins Ohr stichst.
